Agreed, we’ve shown you one too many images of the Skoda Kodiaq concept or sketches of the final product. Well, here’s some good news.

Skoda has teased the production-spec Kodiaq in the metal, ahead of its global debut that will take place in Berlin on September 1, 2016..

While the first few images were studio shots of a test car, more images of the SUV on the road have been released as a part of Skoda’s promotional activities with the Tour de France.

The car pictured is camouflaged, but it gives us a better idea of the Kodiaq’s proportions with certain styling elements visible as well.

The 4.7 metre-long, 7-seater SUV has large rear overhangs, and, while it is the Volkswagen Tiguan’s sister, the stance from the side profile is almost Audi Q7-like.

The Kodiaq will feature a flexible third seat row and Skoda claims it will have the largest boot space in its class as well. Given the accommodating trunk in the Superb, that’s a claim we have little trouble in believing.

Also making their way into the model will be a range of infotainment, assistance and connectivity systems.

Capacitive touchscreens will be seen across the range, while Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SmartGate and MirrorLink will be available as standard on higher variants (optional for the entry-level ‘Swing’ infotainment system)

The powertrain options will be a familiar affair, with three TSI (petrol) and two TDI (diesel) motors making their way under the bonnet.

Dynamic chassis control (DCC), which will be offered with the Superb in India by 2017, will also be offered and all-wheel drive variants will be available with an ‘off-road mode’.

Front wheel drive comes as standard, with transmission options including a six-speed manual gearbox and DSG automatics.

Global sales of the Kodiaq begin in 2017. Expect an Indian debut in early 2018.
