The Honda HR-V Mugen range-topping variant has been launched in the local market at 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The 1.5-litre Mugen variant is priced at IDR 326.4 million (around INR 16.66 lakhs) while the 1.8-litre Mugen is priced at IDR 398.8 million (around INR 20.36 lakhs).

The new variants are adorned with genuine accessories created by Honda’s Mugen performance division. The HR-V Mugen is available in three exterior color options namely White Orchid Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl and Rallye Red.

The visual differentiators include a Mugen front grille with silver bar and glossy black air dam, front bumper extensions, dual-tone alloy wheels, black side skirts, Mugen decals on the base of the windows, a massive roof-mounted spoiler and a new rear bumper with black plastic cladding, and silver diffuser.

Inside, the HR-V Mugen variants come fitted with a larger floating 8-inch infotainment display and an 8-speaker audio system. Rest of the equipment level is identical to that of the top-end Prestige trim.

The 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine generates 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque. The 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine is good for 139 PS and 169 Nm of torque. Both motors are paired to a CVT with paddle shifters.

The Honda HR-V is positioned between the BR-V and CR-V in the Japanese automaker’s global portfolio.
