The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe has been unveiled ahead of its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in early October. The range-topping variant of Mercedes’ compact coupe crossover is pitted against the BMW X5 M40i.

Like all the AMG models that carry the ’43’ designation, the GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe is powered by a Bi-Turbo 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine that dishes out 367 PS and 520 Nm of torque.

The motor is mated to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission which is tweaked to achieve shortened shift times and an AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive system with a rear bias of 69%. The performance coupe crossover is capable of dispatching 0-100 kmph sprint in an impressive 4.9 seconds.

The vehicle has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. Combined fuel consumption stands at 8.4 litres per 100 km (11.9 kmpl) as per the European Driving Cycle.

To handle the surplus of firepower, the crossover receives tweaked chassis, a dedicated sports suspension system with Air Body Control, adaptive damping, speed sensitive variable ratio steering system, larger perforated discs, optional 21-inch alloy wheels, etc.

Visually, the GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe differentiates itself from regular model by means of diamond pin radiator grille, glossy black and chrome accents all around, body kit, and quad-pipe exhaust system. Inside, the AMG crossover gets black color theme with contrast red stitching, aluminium trims, sports steering wheels and sports front bucket seats.

The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe is slated to go on sale in Europe in December this year. The automaker is reportedly working on a meaner GLC 63 4MATIC Coupe with 500 PS V8 under the hood.
