New Kawasaki Z250 is to be officially launched in India on 22nd April along with the new Z1000. New Z250 for India is expected to be seen with Anti Lock Braking System and new color options. It will continue to be powered by the same engine as its outgoing counterpart and pricing could be increased from INR 3.11 lakhs to INR 3.25 lakhs, ex-showroom.

Set to compete against the likes of KTM 200 Duke, Honda CBR 250 R and the Benelli TNT 25, the new Kawasaki Z250 will be powered by the same engine as is seen on the model now on sale in India. This 249cc liquid cooled parallel twin engine is capable of 32 PS power at 11,000 rpm and 21 Nm torque at 10,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox.

It gets 37mm telescopic forks in front and Uni-Trak gas charged monoshock at the rear while brakes include 290mm and 220 mm petal disc at from and rear with dual piston caliper. The new Kawasaki Z250 gets a fuel tank of 17 liter capacity and ground clearance of 145mm with overall weight at 168 kgs.Speaking about the new Z1000, it gets the 1,043cc 4 stroke, 4 cylinder liquid cooled engine which delivers 140 hp and 111 Nm torque via a six speed manual transmission.

A street fighter which shares platform and parts with the Ninja 1000, does a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 258 kmph. Expect price to be in the range of INR 12-15 lakh, ex-showroom.
