The art show title ‘More or Less’ is a balancing perspective which finds an allegory with the moon. Hence, the eighteen participating artists create a dialogue which ‘More or Less’ hints at the multiple beauties and complexities of life. The exhibition will be featuring different genres of paintings from each artist who represent their own state of idea and expression, through bright colours.

Speaking to the Hans India, Karnataka- based artist Santosh Rathod, whose works are a spontaneous process and layering of surfaces one over the other ‘attempts to explore the language of abstraction’. He bases them on his personal experiences and reactions to the continuous social happenings around him.

The social issues which may not be acceptable to the viewer, he simply layers them aesthetically with due respect, not hurting anyone’s sentiments. The layers are his personal reactions done sometimes with some one's name or symbols or images which he hides underneath by scratching, scribbling, and layering with tissue or by drawing.

Santosh elaborates: “I had displayed four paintings in the gallery. I drew experience from my personal issues and subjects; I work in so many layers. My works are in acrylic on paper.” His intense, emotive involvement in the process of creation is so appreciable that he fulfils his right of expression spontaneously through his art works and makes the viewer more curious to know about the painting.

Another artist Mallikarjun shares, “I am in this field for the past 30 years. I pursued my PG from Karnataka and I am working here as an art professor. I paint regularly. I have participated in many art shows in different cities. At Daira Art gallery I had contributed my six paintings which will be on display soon. They all are in small size. My works are in acrylic on canvas, mix medium on canvas and two are in abstract works.”

Speaking about his concepts of works he says, “The works which I had sent right now deals with non-representational subjects where you may not able to recognize the forms. You have to look at the structure and form and you can have your own interpretation of seeing that work.” Avinash Bhovi said, “I am working on this subject for 15 years.

This is my second show in Hyderabad. My experience was very good. I had displayed six paintings in the exhibition. And the mediums that I used are mix medium on paper, Galls marking pencil and acrylic cooler on paper.”

“My paintings mostly deal with my present issues and situation. I basically focus on surroundings and environment. My works are mostly in black and white colours. Whatever I feel I start painting that one thing. My every work is on series.” He adds.
