Launches wide range of diesel gensets in Telangana market; Keen to invest in solar energy

Hyderabad: Jakson Group, which is into manufacturing of diesel gensets and other power solutions, on Thursday launched latest range of its products in the Telangana market. Through this new products range, the New Delhi-based company is eyeing Rs 100 crore business in the first year of its operation in the new state.

“Telangana is the youngest state in the country and has huge potential to grow. Power is indeed a big issue in the state and for sustainable growth this would be a priority sector. We are here in this new state to not only to be one stop shop for power solutions, but also to build long lasting relationships,” Sameer Gupta, Managing Director, Jakson Group, told media here after launching the new product range which included diesel gensets with capacities ranging from 15 kVA to 810 kVA.

However, the company will soon offer its complete range of products from 7.5 kVA- 3000 kVA to tap the growing market for diesel and gas gensets in the state. “With introduction of its CPCB II generating sets powered by Cummins, Jakson is confident of providing reliable and environment-friendly products and solutions in the TS market,” he added.

Gupta further said his company which is also into setting up of solar and gas-based power plants will also explore the possibility of setting up solar power plants in Telangana. However, he did not disclose the kind of investments the company would make in this space.

“Till now, we have 30 MW of solar power generation capacity – 20 MW in Rajasthan and 10 MW in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, the company is in the process of establishing 30 MW more in the UP. Now, we are looking at opportunities available in other states including Telangana,” he explained, adding that his company would invest close to Rs 700 crore to take the total installed capacity to 200 MW in next two years.

Jakson Group, a strategic OEM partner to Cummins since 1982, has four state-of-the-art manufacturing plants for silent diesel generators and gas generators in the country. Currently, the company produces 8,000 generating sets per annum from these plants which have an installed capacity of 15,000 units a year. “Our group which is also into hospitality segment achieved a turnover of Rs 1,500 crore last fiscal, but we have drawn up plans to increase the turnover to Rs 2,500 crore over the next two year,” Gupta said.
