While Bengaluru-Kochi fares are priced from Rs 799 under the AirAsia India offer; Bengaluru-Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru-Goa, Bengaluru- Pune fares from Rs 999; Bengaluru-Jaipur fares start from Rs 1,599; Bengaluru-Chandigarh at Rs 1,799 and Bengaluru-New Delhi at Rs 1,999.
With most of the airlines announcing promotional fares, the passenger traffic has witnessed a significant boost with domestic airlines carrying 251 lakh passengers during January-April 2015 compared to 207 lakh during the corresponding period a year ago showcasing a 21 percent increase.
Air India recently began a promotional scheme offering fares from Rs 1,777 for its domestic network covering 66 destinations. Other private carriers also announced similar low fare offers in the recent past including SpiceJet, Jet Airways, IndiGo and GoAir.
