As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), country’s largest lender has been taking several initiatives and earmarking one per cent of profits towards CSR, said Gupta.

“SBI Foundation is taking care of CSR activity and all our subsidiaries such as SBI Life are contributing to the foundation. SBI’s maximum CSR work is done through NGOs,” said Gupta after handing over a mini bus to Amma Nanna Anadha Ashram here at bank’s local head office on Monday.

In addition to Rs14.25-lakh worth mini bus, SBI has also donated 250 blankets, 250 sleeping mats to the Ashram. The mini bus will be used for providing transportation facility to inmates of ashram for health check-ups at supporting hospitals including Osmania, Gandhi, Kamineni, etc, said Shankar, founder of Amma Nanna Anaadha Ashram.
