Tirupati: The Samaikya Andhra Parirakshana Samithi adopted three resolutions to intensify the agitations at the State-level executive committee meeting here on Sunday. It was decided in the meeting to oraganise a massive meeting at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi in the second week of October demanding the Union government to set aside the bifurcation of the State.
Speaking to media persons, Dr K Balasubramanyam, president, SAPS, said that they are planning to conduct a massive meeting by inviting all the Samaikyandhra supporters in Hyderabad. Perhaps, ‘Chalo Delhi’ programme will be conducted in the first week of October and the route-map is still in the pipeline, he replied. For this, the SAPS will be hiring 200 buses to take the Samaikyandhra supporters to New Delhi, he said.
N Raja Reddy, general secretary, SAPS, said that the ongoing agitations will touch 50th day on September 19. Hence, SAPS emphasises the need for intensifying the agitation in the near future. SAPS also resolved to take the agitations to the village- level by explaining the disadvantages with the bifurcation of State, he said.
The agitations were confined to district headquarters, major towns and mandal headquarters and in order to strengthen the movement at the village-level, they would coordinate with the leaders of Sarpanches’ Association, he said. He termed Minister TG Venkatesh as betrayer of Samaikyandhra agitation. If Mr TGV is really supporting the Samaikyandhra agitation he would not have lodged complaints against the activists of SAPS, who have been arrested by the police based on the compliant, when they demanded the resignation of the Minister, he said.
