Udayabhanu as 'Madhumati'

Although her 70 mm screen debut with films like 'Leader' and 'Julayi' didn't go according to plan, noted small screen anchor Udayabhanu is pinning hopes on her new flick 'Madhumati'. She will be seen as the central character in the film which is 50 per cent wrapped up. Being produced by Rani Sridhar and Kadiyam Ramesh, the film, set in the backdrop of Godavari, is a love story between a Telugu girl and a Tamil guy. "It will be told in a humourous way and Udaybhanu is bound to bag the best actress trophy for the year," said director Raj Sridhar. Raj Kiran is scoring music for the film.
