Interestingly, it is said that Telugu and Tamil movies rake in more moolah in Bangalore than anywhere else. So there's no need to dub movies into kannada considering the fact that people anyway watch the original version.

However, renowned Kannada producer Rajendra Singh Babu has proposed that Kannada industry too allow dubbing which has been strongly opposed by actor Shivarajkumar son of thespian Dr Rajkumar.

Actor Shivarajkumar and director-producer Rajendra Singh Babu are at loggerheads over dubbing.

Babu's move to propose dubbing has not gone down well with Shivanna (Shivrajkumar) who has slammed the producer over the issue. The actor along with several members from the fraternity are expected to join a rally led by Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj. To oppose the dubbing of other language movies into kannada, several Kannada artistes including Shivarajkumar, senior actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Jaggesh, Ravichandran, Radhika Pandit, Pooja Gandhi, Sa Ra Govindu, TS Nagabharana met at the Press Club in Bangalore.
