Asin, Ash out of Mani’s film
AsIN, Ash out of Mani’s film, Asin Thottumukkal, Ghajini, Aishwarya Rai. While Aishwarya Rai was he first choice for the project, we hear that she had to withdraw due to unknown reasons. So Mani Ratnam reportedly zeroed in on Asin and convinced her to play the role.
Actress Asin Thottumukkal made a move to Bollywood after her debut Hindi film, ‘Ghajini’, became a blockbuster hit. Though she did manage to work with some of the big names in the industry, Asin failed to make a foothold for herself.
At the same time her neglect towards the southern film industries (where she was having a good innings) ensured she had no more offers. However, we hear that the Mallu babe will soon make a comeback with Mani Ratnam’s next which is a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu. This would be a lucky opportunity for Asin who is looking for a bankable film to make a comeback into the southern film industry.
