Pawan Kalyan to direct 'Gabbar Singh 2'?

Superstar Pawan Kalyan, who will soon start shooting for ‘Gabbar Singh 2’, is likely to direct the film himself. He has decided to take on the task after alleged fallout with filmmaker Sampath Nandi.

Nandi was to direct ‘Gabbar Singh 2’, which is yet to go on the floors.

"Sampath Nandi has decided to move on to his next project as he's spent considerable amount of time waiting for this project to roll. Therefore, Pawan sir is thinking of donning the director's hat on this project," told a source from the film's unit.

Pawan's first tryst as director was with ‘Johnny’. Though the actor received rave reviews for the way he handled the film, it turned out to be a damp squib at the box-office.

‘Gabbar Singh 2’, which is an extension of the blockbuster ‘Gabbar Singh’, was officially launched this year. Pawan’s friend Sharrath Marar will produce it.

A day after we’ve reported that producer Tagore Madhu is in a dilemma whether to remake Tamil actor Vijay-starrer ‘Kaththi’ in Telugu or dub it, fresh reports coming in indicate that the producer is keen to see Pawan Kalyan stepping into the shoes of Vijay if at all he puts his plans of dubbing the film into Telugu on the backburner. As the film deals with a burning social issue, Madhu, it is being said, is keen on a star of Pawan’s calibre to feature in the Telugu version. It is also learnt that Pawan was impressed with the storyline of ‘Kaththi’ and even expressed his interest to watch it. If everything goes according to plan, either AR Murugadoss who is the brain behind the original version or VV Vinayak is expected to helm the film.
