Not just promotions on a grand scale, innovative promotions too are catching up with Bollywood. The principal cast of ‘Action Jackson’ did exactly this on Thursday. In a video conference through Google hangout, Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha caught up with scribes of Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune and Chandigarh to speak about the film, scheduled to open in cinema halls Friday.

Dubbing the film as more of a romantic drama laced with oodles of action, Ajay who danced a lot in the film said that he took the film as a challenge. “When Prabhudeva came to me with the script, I fell in love with it and the way he wanted to present it. After some days he dropped by me and said that I need to put my dancing shoes on. I took a pause and questioned myself whether to sign the project or not? But I went with a gut feeling and did what all he wanted me to do,” chuckled Ajay.

He added, “Initially I wasn’t comfortable with the movements but after two to three rehearsals I slowly started getting into the groove. Prabhu wanted me to practice for another numbers too but I politely refused to partake. Even if I do such dance moves in the future, I want him to choreograph them or else I don’t think I will be at ease.”

So what did his star wife Kajol made of his moves? “For the first time, she did like my dance. My kids are very critical about my dance and they too loved my jhatkaas and matkaas.”

The superstar has also set the record straight when asked whether the film has any resemblances to Telugu hit ‘Dookudu’. “It is neither a remake of ‘Dookudu’ nor is it inspired by other films; it’s an original body of work.”

The actor also spoke about SS Rajamouli when asked whether he wants to work with any south director in particular. “He thinks fabulously. I know he’s making something big now. I asked him during the promotions of ‘Makkhi’, ‘Why are you not into Bollywood?’ He said that he will take two years to wrap up a film. However, I want him do a Hindi film,” said Ajay who lent his voice for the opening and closing credits of ‘Makkhi.’
