Though both Dil Raju and Prasad V Potluri were keen on remaking ‘Bangalore Days’ in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously, it is now confirmed that both the producers have decided to go on their own.

A source close to the Telugu remake team points out, “Yes, both the producers wanted to remake the film as a Telugu-Tamil bilingual initially but differences between them ensured that they part ways amicably. While Tamil version which had its muhurat in Chennai recently will be helmed by Bommarillu Bhaskar, the Telugu version will be directed by Venu Sriram, who earlier directed ‘Oh My Friend’, for Raju.”

Avasarala SrinivasThe Tamil version stars Arya, Rana Daggubati, Bobby Simha and Sri Divya in the lead roles and we hear Telugu version’s cast too boasts of familiar faces. “Sharwanand, Varun Tej, Avasarala Srinivas and Nithya Menen are a part of the Telugu version which will go on floors as soon dates of Varun and Nithya are adjusted. Sharwaa is tipped to play the part that was essayed by Fahadh Faasil in the original while Nithya will reprise Nazriya Nazim.

Varun and Avasarala will step into the shoes of Dulquer Salmaan and Nivin Pauly respectively,” states the source, adding, “Both Raju and Venu Sriram felt these actors will bring in the required freshness to the film, before getting them on board. The script has been tweaked to suit Telugu audiences.”A sequence of events about three cousins, who move to Bangalore from Kerala, ‘Bangalore Days’, which released in 2014, was a monstrous hit at the Malayalam box-office.
