Andhra Pradesh Film Employees Federation seems to have got a jolt as Hyderabad Joint Labour Commissioner Gangadhar extended full support to the newly-formed Telangana Film Employees Federation and assured to protect their fundamental right to work. The Commissioner said that the government would initiate legal action, if any one dared to obstruct their work.

Director Teja was recently banned by AP Film Employees FederationIt may be recalled that director Teja was banned by AP Film Employees Federation since he utilised an all Telangana crew for his upcoming film ‘Hora Hori’ and subsequently, Telangana Film Employees Federation approached Joint Labour Commissioner seeking justice as the Andhra Pradesh Film Employees Federation was dangling a threat of ban on Telugu filmmakers to discourage them from hiring crew from the newly-formed body.

“Such threats are great injustice to every worker in the newly-formed body and Telangana cine workers have suffered for years but now we are entitled for our right to work,” says dancer Kevin, who is being introduced as a choreographer by Teja in ‘Hora Hori’. “Gangadhar has been a pillar of strength and assured that our right to work would be protected and asked us to work fearlessly” adds Kevin, with a sigh of relief.

Even Cinematography Minister T Srinivas Yadav offered full support to all Telangana workers film body. Taking it a step forward Joint Labour Commissioner would be issuing a letter urging the 800-odd Telugu film producers to hire workers from the newly-formed Telangana Film Employees Federation and the letter would be sent to the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce, Producers Council and other trade bodies and would take severe action against any one or body, if they raise objections.

Meanwhile, TRS ministers, MLAs and cine workers are planning to felicitate director Teja next week for becoming the first Telugu film director to hire all Telangana crew. But the director is reluctant to take up the felicitation. “I don’t like such felicitations, because my job is to make films and encourage new talent, that’s it,” Teja said.
