Several individuals struggle for ages to become an actor in the Hindi film industry. While some succeed after years of perseverance, some lose hope and go back to their native places. However, some arrive on the stage with such confidence and spunk, that their talent prompts filmmakers to instantly sign them as soon as they cross paths.
Model-turned-Actor Zuber Khan has everything going for him at the moment. Well-educated with an Electronics and Telecommunication engineering degree, he is battling to give the new actors a run for their money.
Zuber says, “My parents were insistent on finishing my education and completing my degree. I would juggle both my studies and modeling simultaneously. I have walked the ramp for popular events like Lakme Fashion Week, Levis and many others. I also worked relentlessly in theatre under Habib Tanvir.”
“A commercial for Panasonic with heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor was the turning point in my career.”
Zuber added, “This advertisement has transformed my life as it got me noticed by the fraternity. Ranbir is an inspiration for me and during the course of shooting, I got to learn a lot from him. He taught me that irrespective of a big or small role, it’s crucial to give your 100% always. Consistent dedication will definitely deliver brilliant rewards.”
Acquiring valuable tips from Ranbir was a massive motivation for Zuber, but there’s another superstar who is a part of his world now. And that is none other than Bollywood Badhshah Sharukh Khan.
Zuber told, “Shahrukh Khan is an inspiration for every aspiring actor as he established himself on his own. In Woh Kaun Thi, I’ll be copying Shahrukh’s style. Even if I can manage 10% of his style, I’ll be pleased with myself. I’m grateful that I’m getting the opportunity to showcase my talents through Shahrukh. In fact my characters in my films are also Shahrukh names like Raj and Samar.”
Some people manage to bag one film after years of struggle, but Zuber already has four films in his kitty. The most important one out of those is ‘Woh Kaun Thi?’ featuring tainted cricketer Sreesanth.
Zuber continues, “It’s a spontaneous comedy featuring three males and four females. It has no connection to Manoj Kumar’s classic suspense thriller, and is completely different. I’m playing the parallel lead alongside Sreesanth. We’re all college mates having a lot of fun. My character is mastikhor as well as helpful and we’re trying to find who among the girls is a con.”
The other films include another comedy ‘Picture Toh Banegi Boss’ directed by Anurag Basu’s associate Digamber Sharma, Pen Camera International’s ‘Soul’ and ‘The Dream Job’ where he’ll be playing a banker-turned businessman. Most of these films have comedy as a central factor.
Zuber added, “It’s extremely difficult to make people laugh through comedy. But I take it as a challenge to prove myself as it’s easier to establish oneself with comedy. You can see with Rohit Shetty too that comedy is what launched him to enormous heights and that’s what even I’m striving to follow.”
