Charmme in the eye of the storm

The actress had to apologise following her statement that the Puri Jagannadh-Nithiin film failed to take off because the actor’s production house was short on funds

After stating that she had no role in Nithiin opting out of director Puri Jagannadh’s next and that the ‘proposed project’ failed to take off because Nithiin’s father was short on funds as he already invested big bucks on Akhil’s debut flick, actress Charmme is in the midst of a controversy once again. Apparently this statement of hers didn’t go down well with Nithiin and Co. as they are treating Akhil’s debut flick as a prestigious one.

A source close to the actor points out, “Nithiin and his father were unhappy with the way Charmme went on record about their film with Puri not taking off. They were, in fact, mighty dejected when she brought up the subject of Akhil’s film. They immediately spoke to Puri who echoed their views and suggested that Charmme tender an apology.”

Indeed the actress extended her apologies. In a statement she said, “The truth is that even I don’t know for what reasons Jagan and Nithiin’s film stopped. But just because I heard some rumours from somewhere about their financial problem and without checking to say it in press, is my mistake. I sincerely apologise for that (sic).”
