I am very much a feminist: Madhavi Latha

Madhavi Latha, who was in town for a social event caught up with young girls in a candid chat. Here is an excerpt of her chat with City Tab; she spoke about her career and other voluntary activities.

“I am a busy person despite having or not having movie projects. I am vice president of American based IT Company and run a Hyderabad based real estate company that operates in Bangalore and Rajahmundry,” she shared.

Speaking on her film career, Latha said, “On the movie front I am doing a 1950’s periodic kind film titled ’Anustanam’ based on Chalam’s novel. In Kollywood, I am playing the lead in a movie titled, ‘Madhurai Manikurravan’ and in Kannada; another movie is in the making.”

Latha believes in gender equality. “I select films that give me an opportunity to showcase female stamina. I am very much feminist,” she said. Speaking about her charity concerns, she said that her foundation Nakshatra is serves many causes of women and children.

“It majorly works towards organizing blood donation camps for children with Thalassemia,” she said. Madhavilatha who designs her own outfits said, ‘Beauty is women and women is beauty. It is very important to show off in your apparels and accessories that make a forever affect on whomever you may meet and see.

Fashion is a strong thing that has connection to what individual’s style statement is. Women should ensure that they exercise, stay fit and give their best.” On a signing note, she said that human relations are what one can cherish for a lifetime and having healthy relations will lead you to good places.
