Jani choreographs Shruti’s solo dance bit in Premam
As much as Malayalam film ‘Premam’ was appreciated for its realistic content and performances, the sequence where Malar (played by Sai Pallavi) exhibits her dance moves to her students (Nivin Pauly, Shabareesh Varma and Krishna Shankar) too received widespread acclaim. And in the Tollywood spinoff, director Chandoo Mondeti has ensured that the dance bit was retained.

And in the Tollywood spinoff, director Chandoo Mondeti has ensured that the dance bit was retained.
A source points out, “The dance bit comes at an important juncture in the film and Chandoo wanted it to standout, hence he roped in much-in-demand choreographer Jani for it. The master has come up with unique moves and Shruti Haasan, who reprises Malar in the remake, has carried the whole sequence with grace. In fact, Chandoo banked on her grace and he’s glad that she has exceeded her expectations.”
The next schedule of ‘Premam’, a coming-of-age-romantic musical, will kick-start in March. “Naga Chaitanya is currently shooting for ‘Sahasam Swaasaga Saagipo’. His part and the film will come to an end shortly; post which he will shift attention to completing ‘Premam’. Venkatesh, who will play a cameo in the film, will participate in the schedule in late March or in April.”
