This was on the cards. The overseas rights of sequel to the titanic hit ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ have been sold for a record price. K Entertainments has entered into an agreement with Arka Media Works, the production house that is steering ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion,’ and acquired the rights by paying a whopping Rs 95 crore, making it a record deal for any Telugu film date. The deal includes overseas rights of Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam besides the Tamil Nadu domestic rights.

A source close to Arka Media confirms, “Yes, Arka Media Works has parted the overseas and Tamil Nadu domestic rights to K-Entertainments. However, Kerala rights are still with them. Although many established firms wanted to get their hands on the rights given the enormous buzz the in-progress sequel is carrying, K -Entertainments has bagged them by quoting an astronomical sum. They want to give it an epic release.” Presently progressing in Hyderabad, the sequel is likely to be wrapped up November. The makers are planning to release it in April 2017.
