Chennai: Actor RJ Balaji has reportedly been roped in to play an important role in Mahesh Babu's upcoming yet-untitled Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
"Balaji will play Mahesh's friend. He wouldn't be seen as a regular comedian and has more to do than just evoke laughter. It's an interesting character and helps the hero in many situations," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
Being directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film is currently being shot in Hyderabad.
Balaji is expected to join the sets next week.
Also starring Rakul Preet Singh and SJ Suryah, the project is tipped to being made on a budget of Rs 90 crore.
Harris Jayaraj has been roped in to compose the music.
