Anushka, Virat mesmerise in their traditional best at wedding reception

New Delhi : Donning a traditional red Benarasi saree, newly-wed Anushka Sharma looked resplendent at her wedding reception in Delhi on Thursday.

The Bollywood star, who married Indian skipper Virat Kohli on December 11, wore a Sabyasachi ensemble for the grand ceremony and accompanied the look with red bindi, sindoor and mogras.

About her saree, the designer revealed in his Instagram post that the 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' star chose to wear a red Benarasi saree from the by-lanes of Peeli Kohti in Benaras. She summed it all with uncut diamond choker and jhumkas from the designer's jewellery collection.

Talking about Kohli's attire, Sabyasachi stated that he wore a black textured silk signature bandhgala with the house buttons in 18k gold and a white silk kurta with hand-woven brocade churidaar.

I don’t think Indian brides feel complete without wearing the colour red in one of their functions. Anushka decided to wear red on her reception. And much to my absolute delight, it would be a red Benarasi saree. From the by-lanes of Peeli Kothi in Benaras. I was particularly excited about this look because I have seen an entire generation of Bengali women getting married in red Benarasi sarees.
