Actor and producer Pooja Bhatt raise some valid points in on-going freedom of speech controversy stirred by veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah.

Pooja interacted with media alongside, Gulshan Grover and S.Shreeshant during a film promotional event on Monday.

Talking about Naseeruddin Shah and general change in society, Pooja Bhatt said, “I would go out for walks early in mornings, or if I needed to take an auto late in night, I would do these things without any hesitations, because this is my city, but nowadays I don’t do it as the world has changed. You have to feel a little cautious as a woman when you go out, for that matter as a man, as well. The atmosphere has changed, but why it changed or who changed it, if we talk about it right here, it will be a discourse…”

“But if Naseeruddin Shah or I or anyone for that matter, we all are Indians, and this is our home, right? And if someone doesn’t feel safe in his own house, doesn’t he have a right to address it with his elders, parents, and society, that I am not feeling loved in my own house, that I am feeling scared. So now what must the parents do, make the child feel secure or start pelting stones at him? If someone is expressing his feelings and you’re pelting stones at him, what exactly you are proving?”

Pooja Bhatt also added that she doesn’t feel unsafe. She said, “I don’t feel unsafe at all! I feel that I am Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter, I have his blood in my veins and a genetic flaw as well, I put my opinions and thoughts in an unadulterated manner, if someone bash for it, so be it”

As for Cabaret, the film is based on Richa Chadda’s character of a dancer, who begins her journey from a small village of Jharkhand and wants to make it big in the world of dance.

Directed by Kaustav Narayan Niyogib, Cabaret will be available for streaming 9th Jan onwards only on ZEE5.
