Kangana Ranaut, who has been winning millions of hearts with her fierce avatar in her recently released movie Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, says some people are jealous and trying to stir the pot by creating controversies.
Actress Kangana Ranaut interacted with media on the sidelines of Manikarnika’s special screening for the school students.
Manikarnika saw its fair share of controversies from co-stars, director and fringe groups, pre and post-release.
When asked about the film being successful but people being left behind, Kangana said, “The nature of show business is such, the controversies or debate related to the film, but I won’t say that something is left behind. Our film is in theatres, on screen and it has been reaching people, so I really wouldn’t say that something is left”
“Even people can’t say that we have taken any liberty in portraying the historical figure, because most of the historic films portray the personalities in wrong light, that half of the communities are mad at the film; thinking it is miss-portrayal, it has been scandalized or people are out to make money on historic figures, we didn’t do any such thing”
Talking the success and screening, Kangana said, “For us, it has been an incredible experience that film is being appreciated so much and the success it got. Today we have kept screening for school kids, and a lot of students from different schools are here, who are enjoying the film”
“I had this wish that when I do direct a film I'm able to cater it to children audience, because they are important, as they are the foundation of our nation, this movie is of mine is a patriotic film and I wanted to educated them about the land, country and fundamental rights, which I have and it means a lot to me”
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is an epic biographical period drama film based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi. It was directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, popularly known as Krish and actress Kangana Ranaut from a screenplay by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and produced by Zee Studios, Kamal Jain, and Nishant Pitti.
