Lyricist Javed Akhtar says that nowadays the dialogues in films are more real but not at the cost of dramatic effect.

Celebrated dialogue and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar was interacting with media on the sidelines of Sonchiriya special screening here in Mumbai.

Talking about recent releases and Sonchiriya, Javed said, “I’d watched the Sonchiriya and I liked it, and honestly speaking, I’d watched Gully Boy, now Sonchiriya and I’d watched Made In Heaven too, these are different type of stories and different kind of films, but one thing common in these films is that level of realism has increased”

“Earlier our dialogue’s used to be theatrical, but now the conversation is real, but not at the cost of dramatic effect. The effect of dialogue is still the same, even more, honest if I say”

Sonchiriya is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana. The film presents a rooted tale set in Chambal.

Talking about the film, Javed said, “Sonchiriya is a really good movie. The script is really good, performances are amazing and the direction is good too. It is a very well written script, and an interesting script, all and all, it is a good film. It is really a good film”

The film opens in theatres on 1st March 2019.
