Tandur: Vidyasagar Godikar, MPTC of Peddamul in Vikarabad district, who retired in 2012 after serving the Indian Army for 23 years, always moves around with a tri-colour badge pinned to his dress to show his ’Desh Bhakti’.
As the local MPTC member, Vidyasagar after having breakfast, keenly discusses people’s problems and strives to solve them by cornering officials at MPTC meetings. When contacted by The Hans India on why he takes up public issues he said ‘one should ponder over what he or she has done for the country and not what it has done for them’.
He remarks that ‘displaying the badge amounts to highlighting the country’s pride. I consider it as a blessing to hold and also to serve the people as a MPTC’. He advises parents to inculcate the spirit of ‘Desh Bhakti’ in their children.
