Tucked away on the campus of Telugu University is this two-storied museum, aptly titled ‘Taratarala Telugu Jaati Vaibhavam’, that reflects the glory of Telugus and their history. In 1975, at the time of the first World Telugu Conference, artists associated with the then Lalit Kala Academy were given the task of painting.

Their works, covering diverse topics, documented the history of Telugu people over the centuries, including the Satavahanas, the 1930’s first Andhra Mahasabha demanding proper status for Telugus, the Kakatiyas’ rule and many more. When the academies were merged with the university in 1985, space was assigned exclusively for this collection.

The museum’s treasures include paintings by modern artists of the land like Kapu Rajaiah, Kondapalli Seshagiri Rao, Vidyabhushan, Reddappa Naidu, Laxma Gowd, Suryaprakash and the various works that artists have done during the university events.

In addition, there are sculptures and carvings that the university authorities have received as gifts over the years. The museum is being readied to enable visitors to feast their eyes on the exhibits during the upcoming World Telugu Conference.
