Hyderabad: A woman doctor from Punjab, who was pursuing a post-graduate course in Hyderabad, allegedly committed suicide by injecting herself with some poisonous liquid late on Saturday night under Tukaramgate police station limits.
Dr Sailaja Sharma, 31, hailing from Bhatinda, Punjab, lived in a rented house in TM Colony in Mahendra Hills area, the police said. She was found dead by her servant on Sunday morning.
She alerted the neighbours who in turn called in the police. Police said a suicide note found in the house said she was ending her life as she was under depression ever since she failed in an examination in December last year.
She struggled to memorise the medical course materials and was going through a bout of depression over her deteriorating grades in examinations. A case has been registered under Section 174 (suspicious death) of Cr PC. Further investigation is underway.
