Hyderabad: Early on Tuesday, a woman was detained by the customs officials. The accused woman was trying to carry drugs from Hyderabad to Nigeria. The customs officials of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in Hyderabad have seized as much as 20kg drugs from her. The woman who arrived at the airport to catch the Abudabi aircraft to leave for South Africa was found wandering suspiciously. When the officials at RGIA questioned her, she gave irrelevant answers. The suspected officials have carried out a snap check of her luggage and found 20Kg drugs hidden inside a T-Shirt. Later, the woman was handed over to DRI officials. The DRI officials have been questioning her, reportedly. It is learnt that the woman is a Nigerian.

Late on Monday, near the veterinary hospital at Palakollu in West Godavari district, 4 men attempted rape on a woman. As the woman screamed loudly, the locals arrived at the spot and tried to rescue her. During this course, the woman sustained injuries. The locals had a bicker with them following which the four men fled from the spot. The locals lodged a compliant with the police upon which the police rushed the spot immediately and sent the woman to Palakollu government hospital for treatment.

In a snap check carried out by the police at Tondupalli near Shamshabad, they found Rs 3.50L being carried illegally in a car. The amount was seized by the police.

The vigilance officials early on Tuesday have seized 100 quintals of rice belonging to ration quota on the national highway at Kovuru in Nellore district.
