One held for supplying ganja to prisoners

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old man was arrested on Friday for supplying ganja to prisoners, who were brought to Gandhi Hospital for a routine check-up. Police seized ganja from Nayeem, who deftly concealed it in his slipper.

During interrogation, he revealed that his intention was to supply the contraband to his friend Kalim who was taken to the hospital for a check-up. Kalim is serving a jail term at Cherlapally prison. “We had a tip-off initially as well, but we could not establish any further link. Investigation is on,” said the cops. A case was registered against Nayeem under Section 8 C and 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
