Teacher thrashes 42 students for talking in Telugu, The parents of 42 school children lodged an FIR against a teacher on Tuesday for severely thrashing the students merely for talking in Telugu.

Hyderabad: The parents of 42 school children lodged an FIR against a teacher on Tuesday for severely thrashing the students merely for talking in Telugu.

Tanuja, a fifth standard teacher of Don Bosco School in Erragadda, flew into a rage when she found that the students were talking in Telugu. She beat up students mercilessly. The parents thereafter hastened to the school and strongly protested against the teacher and the school management. Later they got registered a case against the teacher at SR Nagar police station. The staff was reluctant to utter any word about the incident. Meanwhile, Balala Hakkula Sangham strongly condemned the attitude of the school management in connection with the corporal punishment. It demanded the education department to take stern action against the management as government had already banned physical punishment for students.

The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) also issued suo moto notices to teacher and the school management, said SCPCR member, Achyutha Rao.
