Chit fund scam in Balapur, couple arrested for cheating

A Hyderabad based couple residing in Balapur who were operating an illegal chit fund firm have run into trouble for duping several people to the tune of crores.

The police took into custody both the husband and wife on Tuesday. The culprits have been identified as Jitender Vijayawargi and his wife Kshama Vijayawargi, who were running a fake chit fund firm in the name of Dhanalakshmi finance. They had been collecting money from depositors for over two years now.

Police received complaints from customers alleging that the company failed to return the money even after maturity.

The police has now booked a case of cheating against the couple.
