According to police, around 1 pm, the Railway police control room received an anonymous threat call. The caller identified as Balaji, whom the police arrested on Wednesday, said that an explosion would take place on platform No 3, at Secunderabad Railway Station.

Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police arrested a 17-year old boy for allegedly perpetrating a bomb hoax on May 3. According to police, around 1 pm, the Railway police control room received an anonymous threat call. The caller identified as Balaji, whom the police arrested on Wednesday, said that an explosion would take place on platform No 3, at Secunderabad Railway Station.


Acting on the call, security personnel with bomb disposal and dog squads were pressed into service and the station was thoroughly checked. Following which a special team was formed to nab the accused. During investigation, it was found Balaji made a call using his mobile phone which was recovered from his possession. He was nabbed based on call data, the cops said.
