A Deputy Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was caught red-handed by the sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday. M Venkateswarlu, Deputy Commissioner of Malkajgiri Circle, was nabbed by the police on Monday for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 at his office.
Hyderabad: A Deputy Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was caught red-handed by the sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday. M Venkateswarlu, Deputy Commissioner of Malkajgiri Circle, was nabbed by the police on Monday for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 at his office.
The officer collected the money to do an official favour to the complainant, Venugopal, a resident of Dayanand Nagar in Malkajgiri, for granting permission for construction of his house building, according to ACB officials. Venkateswarlu was tested positive during a chemical test. The accused was arrested and produced before ACB Court.
