A Sagar Babu, a resident of Prabhunagar of Sultanabad mandal headquarters, had placed an order for a smart phone priced at Rs 4,999 during the mega sale conducted by Snapdeal on May 21. When the product was delivered, he found two stones in the box delivered on June 14. Sagar Babu is contemplating to lodge a complaint with consumer forum.


It was the similar to the experience of Ch Srucharan who received two mangoes instead of smart phone ordered for Rs 8,099 during the mega sale conducted by Flipkart on May 26. State Consumer Council President, N Srinivas said that online shopping websites were responsible for the wrong deliveries.


With regard to the number of wrong delivery incidents that took place in the state, he said there was 99 percent chance for consumers to get compensation by lodging complaints with consumer forum. When asked how to establish evidence about wrong delivery, he said besides of payment bills and submitting address proof, consumers should submit an affidavit by taking statements of three to four witnesses and 99 percent of the cases would be settled at the stage of notice, while a few cases would continue till the judgment.
