Hyderabad: A highly decomposed body of a woman was found in a car at Prakash Nagar in Begumpet area on Tuesday morning.Police suspect that the woman was murdered and the body was dumped inside the car at least three days ago. Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the victim, P Padma, 35, lived along with her husband P Narsimha, 42, a scrap vendor.

The couple has two daughters who stay at a government hostel. On Tuesday, locals alerted the police after foul smell began emanating from a parked unused Indica car. On receipt of information, police swung into action and opened the door of the car and found the woman’s body on the rear seat.

“We are yet to ascertain the motive behind the crime and the culprits involved,” an investigating officer said adding that they got some indirect clues and can track the case. The body has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Clues team and sniffer dog were pressed into service to collect evidence from the spot.

The sniffer dog ran from the car to the house of the victim and then stopped. However, police suspect Narsimha, who is absconding after the incident, could be involved in the killing. “He fought with Padma on the night of June 13 and after that she went missing and only to be found murdered on Tuesday in an unused dumped Indica car with the window panes covered by cardboard cartons," the officer said. Police registered a case under 302 (Murder) of the IPC. Further probe is on.
