Pratyusha’s father still at large
Chippa Ramesh, a wanted person for police for allegedly torturing his 19-year-old daughter Pratyusha for over seven months, still remains elusive. “Special teams have been formed to nab Ramesh who is absconding after the incident,” LB Nagar inspector E Srinivas Reddy said. In her complaint to the police, Pratyusha said that her parents used to throw acid on her, make her drink toilet cleaners, snub a cigarette on her body, and even beat her with an iron rod.

She was subjected to physical harassment by her father and stepmother Chamundeshwari alias Shyamala at their house in LB Nagar. Meanwhile, taking a suo motu cognisance on the basis of media reports on the alleged torture of the girl, the High Court issued notices to LB Nagar inspector and asked to submit the reply within two days.
