The 22-year-old woman from Bhupalapalli in Warangal district who was arrested by the SR Nagar police for impersonating as a All India Services officer and extorted money from several innocent persons, was booked under Preventive Detention Act by the city police on Tuesday.

Tandra Hema alias Shailu alias Alekya Reddy, was arrested by the SR Nagar police in February 2015, when she approached police claiming that her relatives were planning to snatch away her property worth Rs 100 crore.

The woman was also charged with cheating innocent people by impersonating as an IAS officer, promising houses to the poor under Rajiv Swagruha Kalpa scheme.

The woman was arrested by the Cyberabad police as well for extorting money from single men. On Tuesday,

City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy issued detention orders against Hema and asked the Superintendent of Special Prison for Women in Chanchalguda to serve the notices to the woman and take necessary action.
