Vijayawada: Three persons drowned in Krishna river while crossing the river in a small barge (Ballakattu) at Gudimetla village of Chandarlapadu mandal in Krishna district on Saturday evening.
The mishap occurred when three persons including M Ramana, M Narasimha Rao and M Gopi of Gudimetla village returning from Atchampet of Guntur district after marriage talks by crossing Krishna river in the village barge.
It is learnt that when they sat on the temporary edge of the barge, they fell in the river. The villagers were shocked when they came to know about the mishap and reached the banks of Krishna river in large numbers.
