B.Tech student commits suicide in hostel

Warangal: A B. Tech student of Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITSW) has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room on the college campus in Hanamkonda on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Booraneni Sandeep Goud (19) hailing from Kothagudem in Khammam district.

He was the in second year of civil engineering department at the college. Kakatiya University Campus Inspector SM Ali said that the deceased had attended first and second classes in the morning. Later he went to his hostel room and was said to have committed suicide in between 11.20 am and afternoon hours.

His roommates, who went to the hostel room after the classes, knocked on the door, but there was no response from him. They peeped into the room and found Sandeep hanging from the ceiling fan. They immediately broke the door open and informed the incident to the college management. He was shifted to MGM Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The parents of the student arrived on learning about his death. "He called me early in the morning and told me he just had breakfast and he looked normal at that time," said Sandeep’s father Sai Baba, His classmates also said that Sandeep was found normal when he was attending the classes. According to the students, failed love affair might be the reason behind the suicide. Kazipet ACP B Janardhan visited the spot. KU police registered a case and investigation is on.
