The Cyberabad city police have arrested four men who were found operating a fake education certificate racket on Wednesday. The police claimed that the racket was operating from West Gandhi Nagar, Nagaram and Keesara of Rangareddy districts.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad city police have arrested four men who were found operating a fake education certificate racket on Wednesday. The police claimed that the racket was operating from West Gandhi Nagar, Nagaram and Keesara of Rangareddy districts. They seized about 40 fake certificates including undergraduate and post-graduate degrees, open college degree, provisional, migration and convocation certificates of Dr B R Ambedkar Open University, Sri Krishnadevaraya University and Shobhit University to be sold at huge sums.

A total of Rs 40,000 in cash and seven mobile phones were also recovered from the accused. The accused were identified as Konneboyina Ramulu (29), a lecturer residing at Til­ak­na­gar, Amberpet; Koppula Prashanth (34) of Sathi Reddy Nagar Colony, Malkajgiri; Dasyam Nagaraju (35) of Devanpally of Kamareddy Mandal in Nizamabad district, Talari Krishna Mohan (38), Class IV Employees’ Colony, Kurnool.

The other accomplices namely M Vamshi Krishna (27), a lecturer Aruptha Nathan Xavier aka Amul Raj of Guntakal, Anantapur district and Manoj Kumar of Chetnapally village, Goothy mandal of Anantapur were absconding. According to the police, they lured students for providing fake degree certificates and collected Rs. 5 lakh from them. All of them along with seized property were handed over to the SHO, Keesara police station.
