Cock fights: Man dies of cardiac arrest
A person engaged in cock fights marking ‘Dhurmiki Nama’ Telugu New Year has lost his life in a tragic manner at Dumpalligudem of Govindaraopet mandal in the district on Friday. According to the sources, a group of 20 persons were said to have engaged in cock fights.

The local police led by sub-inspector Md Yasin raided the village after they got information about the cock fights, during which they ran away from the place. The deceased, called K Rambabu (50), who was said to be a heart patient, climbed a mango tree nearby to avoid the police.
The police who found him on the tree cautioned him to come down; however, he suffered a cardiac arrest and died. His body was shifted to Mulug civil hospital for post mortem. The local police registered a case in connection with the incident and investigation is on.
