Adilabad woman dies as bus falls into gorge
A woman died and five persons were seriously injured when a private bus plunged into a gorge near Ijjaluru village under Maredumilli mandal in East Godavari district on Monday morning.

Chintaginjala Vijaya (55) of Asifabad under Mancherial mandal of Adilabad district died on the spot while Molukuri Rajeswari, Budikapu Lakshmi Bai, Nampalli Easwarayya, D Krishna Murthy and Uppala Rambabu,
who suffered serious injuries, are undergoing treatment at Rampachodavaram area hospital. Remaining passengers who sustained minor injuries were administered first aid and discharged.
A total of 44 pilgrims from Mancherial and Bellampalli areas of Adilabad district, who were on a pilgrimage, reached Maredumilli on Sunday night after visiting places like Kashi, Gaya and Annavaram, and started for Bhadrachalam in the early hours of Monday.
At Ijjaluru, the bus tumbled into a deep gorge at about 6 am after the driver lost control. Special party police and Greyhounds rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital.
ITDA Rampachodavaram Project Officer KVN Chakradhar Babu said that the State government would give ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
He said that he was in touch with Utnoor ITDA Project Officer and arrangements were being made to shift the injured to a better facility.
