A drunken woman killed her husband at their house in Saifabad, following a heated argument over meagre income and work burden
​Hyderabad: A drunken woman killed her husband at their house in Saifabad, following a heated argument over meagre income and work burden.
The deceased Venkatesh of Gouraram village in Nalgonda with wife Suguna migrated to city and were living in Chintalbasti in Khairatabad under Saifabad police station limits. The couple was working as daily wage labourers.
About six months ago, Venkatesh met with an accident and his leg was fractured. Since then, Suguna had been the sole bread winner for the family of four including two children. The couple frequently fought on this matter, whenever Suguna complained about the burden she was facing.
On Sunday night, the duo consumed liquor and indulged in a heated argument on the same issue. Enraged Suguna then hit her husband with an iron rod. Due to severe head injuries, Venkatesh died on the spot.
Neighbours on Monday morning saw Venkatesh lying in a pool of blood and informed the Saifabad police. Police rushed to the spot and took Suguna into custody for questioning.
