Fake saint, aide held
In the year 2010, he was sent to jail for his conviction in a theft case. After release, he returned to Vijayawada in 2016. He started off ‘Sri Gayatri Jyothishalayam’ in New Rajeev Colony by changing his name as Sadguru Sri Kotappa Swami Daivagna.
A person posing as a saint was taken into custody along with his aide. Bathula Koteswara Rao (35) and Balajangam Sriram (20) were produced before the media. According to the joint Commissioner, Koteswara Rao used to make a living by selling talisman threads and other threads which are believed to be sacred.
