4 held for selling gelatin sticks
Four persons were arrested by Malkajgiri Special Operations Team (SOT) under Cyberabad commissionerate limits on Wednesday for illegally selling electric detonators and gelatin sticks. Police said that 1,300 detonators and 1,800 gelatin sticks along with Rs 1.43 lakh cash were seized from the accused.
​Hyderabad: Four persons were arrested by Malkajgiri Special Operations Team (SOT) under Cyberabad commissionerate limits on Wednesday for illegally selling electric detonators and gelatin sticks. Police said that 1,300 detonators and 1,800 gelatin sticks along with Rs 1.43 lakh cash were seized from the accused.
According to SOT, the accused were identified as Alimineti Venkat Reddy, 40, Hayathnagar, Balishetty Venkatesh, 39, native of Nalgonda district, Yempalle Madhusudhan Reddy, 41, also native of Nalgonda district and Roopani Venkataiah, 48, native of Ghatkesar.
The prime accused Alimineti Srinivas Reddy, 70, resident of Velimanedu village in Chityal Mandal of Nalgonda district has been absconding. The prime accused is the licence holder and had allegedly endorsed his son, Venkat Reddy’s idea of selling the explosive material with the help of Venkatesh and Madhusudhan Reddy.
They were selling the material to Venkataiah, who was ignorant of the Explosives Substances Act, which prohibits selling the material like gelatin sticks in open market.
