​Hyderabad: The Cyber Crime Police West Cyberabad police commissionerate on Thursday arrested three persons from New Delhi on charges of cheating a techie, on the pretext of sanctioning Rs 50 lakh loan and made him part with money Rs 16.94 lakh towards processing fee.

In July, the victim, a resident of Gachibowli, received phone calls from two unknown numbers (7289029326 & 8287060861), during which the caller claimed as Ankita Gupta, an employee of Citibank headoffice at New Delhi, offered him a loan of Rs 50 lakh at 5.5 per cent rate of interest and would sanction the loan.

For this, he had deposited Rs 16,94,608 in various bank accounts which were provided by the caller. Soon, he realized of the cheating and lodged a complaint with the police. During probe, police traced the accused Mohammed Mahaboob Raza, Gaurav Rathore and Rahul Shekya to New Delhi and arrested them.
