3 killed as bike, bus collide

Amaravati: Three persons of a family died on the spot when the motor bike on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding APSRTC bus at Lemalle village under Amaravati mandal of Guntur district on Thursday.

According to Amaravati sub-inspector P Venkata Prasad, the deceased Bandaru Hanumantha Rao (30), his son Mahesh (10) and his brother-in-law T Tirupathi Rao were returning from Amaravati after purchasing clothes.

The incident took place while they were returning home. When they reached Lemalle village, an APSRTC bus coming in the opposite direction hit their bike. The head-on collision was so severe that all three died on the spot. The bodies were shifted to the local government hospital for conducting post-mortem.
