Hyderabad: In an unfortunate incident on Wednesday night, a 40-year-old cameraman working with HMTV was mowed down by an over speeding truck at Mettuguda.

B Satyam (40) had joined HMTV as a cameraman in 2008. He is survived by wife Kavitha and three children. On Wednesday night, Satyam was going home from Borabanda when he met with the accident.

As soon as Satyam’s bike reached Mettuguda under Lalaguda police station limits, an overspeeding truck hit his bike (AP 29R 5274) from rear. Unfortunately, he was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries.

The Lalaguda police said that the accident took place near S&T workshop at Mettuguda. The over speeding truck (AP 31 TA 4989) rammed into his bike from rear and he died on the spot. The police shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary. The body was handed over to the family after autopsy.

On learning about the incident, HMTV Editor-in-Chief Prof K Nageshwar and others visited the Gandhi Hospital and conveyed their condolences to the family of the deceased cameraman.

Based on a complaint from his wife, police booked a case under relevant sections and collected footage of CCTV cameras installed at nearby junctions.
